CURRAGH GOES GREEN

MADE IN IRELAND – the world’s first Carbon Neutral Carpet Range:

Curragh Carpets will become the world’s first manufacturer of a CARBON NEUTRAL range of carpets for business and home owners.

This new collection is called >SWALEDALE and features 20 fashionable colours, inspired by the latest trends in design and interiors. The Swaledale name comes from the breed of sheep whose wool is used in making these wool-rich 80:20 carpets. Its wool contains natural fibres that give each carpet a truly unique and individual personality. To achieve a carbon neutral status, Curragh Carpets underwent an independent assessment of its carbon footprint across all its operations, with energy consumed in the manufacturing process and the carbon emissions arising from production, flights, rail, lorry and car journeys associated with selling and delivering the carpets were all carefully measured. The results achieved at Curragh Carpets are amongst the lowest achieved in the carpet industry and they will reduce even further as Curragh introduces new manufacturing technologies.

The “Carbon Neutral” certification awarded to Curragh Carpets, together with the recognisable green footprint emblem, highlighting our commitment to our environment as we are investing in a number of carbon reduction projects including Wind and Wave power, Reforestation and Hydro-electric schemes.

Comprising 20 inspired colour options, each available in both four and five metre widths and in a 40oz quality, the Swaledale range will be presented on its very own display unit in retail outlets, emphasising its carbon neutral and Guaranteed Irish credentials. The range will be available in retail outlets from 14th October and the launch will be supported with extensive media advertising.
