Curragh Carpets has entered into a partnership with The Curragh Racecourse, and will use the Co Kildare racing venue to showcase some of their product range. Curragh Carpets is celebrating 70 years in business, and recently laid carpets in the Horseshoe Restaurant, Curragh View Bar, Members Bar and Balcony Bar and Café located in the premier level of the grandstand.

To celebrate this partnership with The Curragh Racecourse, Curragh Carpets commissioned a special tapestry to honour the achievements of “Sea the Stars”, who was trained on the Curragh by John Oxx. The Chairman of the Axminster Carpets Group, Mr. Simon Dutfield presented tapestries to both John Oxx and Michael Kinane to commemorate the achievements of Sea The Stars last year. The presentation took place during the Abu Dhabi Irish Guineas Festival.

The design and weaving of this tapestry has taken four months to achieve, and one of the tapestries will be on permanent display in the Members Restaurant at the Curragh Racecourse.
